Foodie Friday: Chocolate Lovers Protein Donuts

Who says donuts can’t be healthy too?! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner and all of the chocolates being pushed on grocery store displays, it’s hard to keep my sweet tooth at bay. I follow enough fitness and healthy eating Instagram’s to get the general idea of what they use to substitute the calories but still get great flavor!
Here is the recipe that I’ve found works for me:

What You’ll Need:
1 Scoop Chocolate Cake Batter Syntha 6
3 tbsp. coconut flour
1 tbsp whole wheat flour
2 tbsp Truvia
2 tbsp 0% Fat Plain Greek yogurt
1 1/2 tpsp
1 large egg
1/2 teasp baking soda
3 tbsp. water (I eyeballed it)
White icing & sprinkles (added mostly for photos & slightly for me)

Set oven to 350 degrees, then mix all of these products together in order. What I mean by eyeballing the water, is that you want to add just enough to make it easier to blend. If you add too much water your donuts won’t turn out as fluffy!

Bake for 15 minutes
Yields 10-12 donuts

So there ya have it! I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day with a little chocolate!

xo, Katie

  1. Yummy! I love plain glazed donuts or jam filled ones. These look yummy! I'm not too picky with texture but I do love a dense cakey donut. For me it's the sweetness that makes it...because usually when I'm craving a donut I just want carbs and sweetness! Hope you had a nice valentine's weekend! I spent mine working but had a pre weekend dinner with the boyfriend to celebrate.

    1. Awe! I'm glad you got to have dinner with your man! There's nothing romantic about overly packed restaurants on Valentine's day anyway. And these are very cakey! I'll probably make some more today actually, haha!
