Platinum Prom Makeup Look

One of my regular clients at the brow bar requested I do her makeup for prom and this look was so much fun for me, I had to share a quick post!

Products used:
Benefit Brow Zings in Dark (she likes them filled in dark, my kinda girl!)
Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eye Primer
Honest Beauty Eyeshadow Trio in Sable Brown and Smoky Grey
Buxom Single Shadow in Pure Platinum
Lorac Front of the Line Pro Liquid Liner
Ardell Wispie False Lashes
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara
Benefit Porefessional Primer
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
Fiona Styles Setting Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer and Rockateur Blush
Becca Pearl Highlighter
IT Cosmetics Buff Nude Lip Liner and Love Story Lipstick on top
I'm obsessed with Mad Men and this look gave me all of the Megan Draper vibes! I took full advantage of her contoured eye-shape to create this look. Would you rock a cut crease like this?

    1. This isn't me, just one of my regulars whose makeup I did for her prom. Thanks so much!

  2. I would wear that crease, but I am not sure about the metallic shadow.

    1. Definitely! I don't wear metallics on a regular basis but it was for a prom look. :)

  3. So true with the Megan Draper look! Man, I miss Mad Men... This is such an awesome look for prom night! You did an amazing job. I haven't tried doing a cut crease because I usually use my fingers for applying eye shadow (I ordered brushes over two months ago and they haven't arrived yet!) but once I get the proper brushes I'd love to try something like this!

    1. On work days when I'm in a rush, I totally use my fingers too! To get the clean lines use dense, flat brushes, and a lot of q-tips went into creating that sharp wing! ;p

  4. She is stunning before makeup but wow, the transformation is gorgeous. Love the eye makeup, it's seriously beautiful and amazing cut crease. I have tried doing cut crease before but just don't look good on me or maybe I'm just terrible at it. Haha!

    1. You and I both have somewhat hooded, almond shaped eyes. Damn women with beautiful contour eyes that can pull off any look!

  6. This is so gorgeous, I love the look you created! I tried a few episodes of Mad Men for the fashion, but I have to admit I found the plot too slow. Too bad, because I really wanted to get into it!

    1. Some episodes I feel like I'm waiting forever for it to pick up. You really have to be into the plot and the characters, I think. And thanks so much! :)

  7. I think the metallic shadow is perfect for prom. I wish I had your eyeshadow skills! I'm not sure a look like that would suit me because I'm half asian so my features are quite different. I just realised how much her brown eyes pop in the last picture, stunning! x

    1. Thanks so much, Sally! Such a sweet comment. I have slightly hooded eyes as well, so I can create the "illusion" of a crease but I definitely took full advantage of her eye shape!

  8. Gorgeous! Katie, you did a fabulous job! Love the cut crease, I think I'll be trying something like this next time on a night out! I've really toned down my make up due to my job, mostly neutrals and really quick easy looks. But you know I love my colors and bold looks!
