Birchbox April 2016

I came home from work to my first Birchbox on Wednesday! While in New York, I had the opportunity to stop by the Birchbox store and build my first box. It was a fun experience to play with mini and full sized beauty products in the middle of SoHo. At the check out my lovely fiance purchased me another 2 months to try!

I was so happy to see this box come with mostly skin care (as I'm a junkie for skin products), a hair mask, and lip tar. I'm not sure how they determine who gets what, but they must really take the little questionnaire you fill out seriously!

Marcelle 3in1 Micellar Solution - This $21 Micellar water is a 3in1 because it gently removes makeup, cleanses the skin, as well as conditions. I loved that this water melted away makeup effortlessly, slightly tingled on the skin, and left my skin feeling fresh.

Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser - This gel foaming cleanser is great for acne-prone skin, breaking up oils, and balancing your skins pH. As I've been having some troubles with my skin, this face wash left my skin noticeably more radiant and soft.

Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturizer - The website claims that this moisturizer is lightweight and oil-free. You wouldn't know it because it is so intensely hydrating! I like that the packet they've included has enough for about 3 applications. I'm trying it out this morning, but I can tell you I'll be saving the next two applications for night time. I'd recommend this to someone with dry skin or slightly combonation.

WEI Purifying Mud Mask - I LOVE a good mud mask and this one is AMAZING. It applied evenly, was deeply effective, and toned down some current blemishes on my face. They include one application cup but I find the cup to be enough for two applications! If you purchased this through Birchbox they retail for $48 for 8 masks, yikes! There's no way I would waste a whole cup on 1 treatment. I could definitely see myself buying this product but I'm not in love with their packaging.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Mask - This is the only item I haven't tested out yet. The description claims that this hair mask will deep treat dry, lifeless hair into a glossier, healthier state. Can't wait to try!

OCC Lip Tar 'Strumpet' - This beautiful red berry. I was so excited to see this in the box because I already know OCC has some incredible pigment and staying power! This color is beautiful through day and night and works with most skin tones!

I don't know why it took me so long to jump on the Birchbox bandwagon. It is a lot of fun trying out new products and almost feels like a present to yourself when you come home from work to this sitting on your doorstep!
