"Honest Beauty? Isn't that Jessica Alba's makeup line?" I know you're all thinking, "great, another celebrity endorsed makeup line." However, I find Honest Beauty, along with the Honest Company to be so much more than that! Jessica Alba stands by her natural cosmetics and skin care line, working in the office, 9-to-5, just like all of the other employees. She has a whole in-house research team, and has banned 2,500 ingredients from making their way into her products!
Refreshingly Clean Gel Cleanser - This cleanser foams up nicely and provides a deep clean for any skin type. It removes dirt and oils without leaving your skin feeling stripped. I love how soft my skin feels after I use this and it has turned into my nightly wash!

Refreshingly Clean Makeup Removing Wipes - These wiped down all of my makeup, no problem! And trust me, I wear a lot of mascara and liner most days. They leave my skin feeling just as soft as if I had washed with the foaming cleanser. For the price point of $10 you can't beat it!

Even Brighter Every Day Moisturizer - Of the 3 moisturizers available in the Honest Beauty line, this one is good for combo skin. Vitamin C powerhouse is one of the main ingredients to help brighten and even skin tone. I can use this morning or night, as it's not too heavy and it absorbs right into my skin!

Everything Primer - This yellow primer helps to brighten the skin, tone down redness, and even skin tone. With hyaluronic acid as one of the main ingredients it also helps to moisturize and smooth out the appearance of fine lines. I do love the way this makes my skin glow, however it's not the best fit for my combo skin in the humid environment I live in. I'll save this for evenings out or special events, not an every day wear. I also hope they eventually make this a pump bottle as the squeeze tube is pretty hard!

Magic Balm - This balm truly is magic and 100% organic! I'm obsessed with it for multiple different reasons. I've used it to tame fly away hairs, moisturize dry patches on my hands, and especially love it as my lip balm during the day and right before I go to bed as it's not greasy or heavy. Jessica Alba loves using the balm as a highlighter, and I'm all for it! I tried it myself and love the mega luminous look it gave my skin! For $18, this balm is a must have!

I'm obsessing over these few products and already can't wait to pick up a few more items in the line! I've noticed a reduction in breakouts since starting to use the Honest Beauty skin care and would recommend the line to anyone, especially those wanting to take a natural approach to beauty! Have you tried anything from this line? Which products in this post caught your eye?

Sugarpill is expanding their line to include lipsticks! Dubbed the "Pretty Poison" lipsticks, these are long wearing, ultra-pigmented, and matte! I was able to pick these up early for $18 a pop at IMATS NYC. Hopefully we can expect a release date soon!
Girl Crush is the hot pink, magenta and Nurse in the blue-toned, classic red. When I saw the packaging I knew I had to have these before even swatching. Is that bad? That I'm, like, that much of a packaging junkie?! I mean, they're shaped like sparkly pink and white pills with the companies logo on the cap! Another perk about these lipsticks is the slight fragrance. They even smell and taste sweet- like candy! You can tell how much thought went into creating these lipsticks down to the very last detail.

For matte lipsticks, these don't feel stiff and drying. However, as with any matte lipstick, I would still recommend prepping your lips with your favorite balm before applying. You don't have to wear a lip liner with these lipsticks (if you didn't want to) as they don't bleed at all! And the wear time is incredible. Lasting 5-6 hours, I rarely fool with touching up these lipsticks when I wear them.
Last year, Sugarpill was anticipating to launch these Pretty Poison lipsticks in January 2016.... and here we are in May. I know Sugarpill fell flat a few years back after promising to produce more of their pro palettes, so I'm only hoping this time will be different! These lipsticks are beautiful, pigmented, matte goodness and I only hope to see a launch with more colors in the future! Would you snag either of these Pretty Poison lipsticks?
I came home from work to my first Birchbox on Wednesday! While in New York, I had the opportunity to stop by the Birchbox store and build my first box. It was a fun experience to play with mini and full sized beauty products in the middle of SoHo. At the check out my lovely fiance purchased me another 2 months to try!

I was so happy to see this box come with mostly skin care (as I'm a junkie for skin products), a hair mask, and lip tar. I'm not sure how they determine who gets what, but they must really take the little questionnaire you fill out seriously!

Marcelle 3in1 Micellar Solution - This $21 Micellar water is a 3in1 because it gently removes makeup, cleanses the skin, as well as conditions. I loved that this water melted away makeup effortlessly, slightly tingled on the skin, and left my skin feeling fresh.

Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser - This gel foaming cleanser is great for acne-prone skin, breaking up oils, and balancing your skins pH. As I've been having some troubles with my skin, this face wash left my skin noticeably more radiant and soft.

Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturizer - The website claims that this moisturizer is lightweight and oil-free. You wouldn't know it because it is so intensely hydrating! I like that the packet they've included has enough for about 3 applications. I'm trying it out this morning, but I can tell you I'll be saving the next two applications for night time. I'd recommend this to someone with dry skin or slightly combonation.

WEI Purifying Mud Mask - I LOVE a good mud mask and this one is AMAZING. It applied evenly, was deeply effective, and toned down some current blemishes on my face. They include one application cup but I find the cup to be enough for two applications! If you purchased this through Birchbox they retail for $48 for 8 masks, yikes! There's no way I would waste a whole cup on 1 treatment. I could definitely see myself buying this product but I'm not in love with their packaging.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Mask - This is the only item I haven't tested out yet. The description claims that this hair mask will deep treat dry, lifeless hair into a glossier, healthier state. Can't wait to try!

OCC Lip Tar 'Strumpet' - This beautiful red berry. I was so excited to see this in the box because I already know OCC has some incredible pigment and staying power! This color is beautiful through day and night and works with most skin tones!
I don't know why it took me so long to jump on the Birchbox bandwagon. It is a lot of fun trying out new products and almost feels like a present to yourself when you come home from work to this sitting on your doorstep! Have you found any holy grail products through a monthly subscription? Which box is your favorite?!

There were so many brush vendors it was hard to choose which one I was going to go with. Ultimately bdellium trumped all because of their outrageous variety and the great prices. I've been impressed with these brushes and working them into my every day routine.

The Essentials: bdellium 957, 945, 964, 955

957 Precision Kabuki - This brush is extremely soft and not too dense, making it perfect for applying my liquid foundation

945 Contour - This tightly packed, fluffy brush is the perfect mini size for fitting right in the hollows of your cheeks. I'm not huge on really contouring to the gods, but I do love this brush for concentrating my bronzer a bit more for dramatic looks!

964 All Purpose Blusher - I usually use an angled blush brush, but this is nicely packed and just dense enough to apply the perfect amount of blush! I'm more likely to use this as a brush for setting my face with a powder!

955 Finisher - Stippling brushes are my most loved. I'll use a stippling brush for just about anything from BB Cream to liquid foundation, cream and powder blushes, and for setting with powder. This stippling brush is more dense than others I have, so I'll definitely be using this for creams and liquid foundations!

The Contouring Saviors - 942 and 944

942 Slanted Contour - Did you notice I have 2 of the same brush with different color handles? I picked up two because I reach for this type of small brush most frequently during my complexion process. You can use this angled brush for contouring, focusing blush on the cheeks, baking powder under the eyes, and dusting highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones and bridge of the nose. I love how small it is, making it easy to use for a slew of different purposes.

944 Tapered Contour - I've never owned a brush like this and always liked the way they looked in tutorials. The tapered aspect makes it great for setting the under eye area (my current use for this brush) or highlighting.

Essential Eye Brushes: 755, 758, 783, 781, 769

755 Smudge - This tiny, very dense, flat brush is great for doing exactly what its name implies - smudging! I love using this to smoke out liner on my top and lower lash line as well as placing dark colors in my outer-V.

758 Large Smudge - This is most loved in my daily routine. I'll use this brush to smoke out any color along my lower lash line.

783 Small Tapered Blending - This brush isn't as densely packed as the crease brush and makes for blending out colors in the crease and outer corner seamlessly.

781 Crease - This densely packed, dome-shaped brush deposits colors into the crease and blends as you go along.

769 Angled Contour - I've never owned an eyeshadow brush this blunt! How large this brush is makes it great for blending out neutral crease colors in a pinch!

This is my first time owning bdellium tools brushes and I'm happy with the investment! The quality is real with these brushes from the shape, how dense they are, and the blend of animal and synthetic hairs makes them incredibly soft to touch. The yellow, studio brushes in this post can be purchased as a 10 piece brush set with a roll for only $69! You can't beat that!

On my recent trip to New York I definitely splurged on some beauty products. Despite not being able to read any labels, nothing stopped me from splurging some more when I stumbled upon a supermarket with a whole 2nd floor for skincare and makeup in the middle of Chinatown, NY. I would have loved to grab a few face washes, moisturizers, and toners because, trust me, - their skin care has got it goin' on. However, when you see cutely packaged makeup - that's a universal language, baby!

I've seen the brand, Dolly Wink on blogs here and there, so I wanted to give their liner a try! And as for the Princess Antionette liner, well, they just got me on the packaging. Lets be real! Upon Googling a little bit I found that the Princess Antionette Lovely Eyes eyeliner is by a brand called Creer Beaute, which makes a whole slew of beauty products based around Anime characters. I can dig it!
Both of these are felt tip liners, making for easy application! I'll get about 6-8 good, hours of wear-time out of my Dolly Wink liner. I find the Black Dolly Wink liner to be very pigmented and I've been using it regularly, and loving it! The Marie Antionette Lovely Eyes was pretty terrible, I'm not going to lie to you. Upon trying to make the liner darker, it started flaking off and has a problem sticking. I've gotten 4 hours of wear out of this liner before it turns on me and completely disappears from the outer corner of my eye. Why ya gotta play me like that, liner?!
I liked that for a drugstore setting there were testers for just about all of the cosmetics products. About 8 mascaras in, I realized that Korean women must be really into fiber mascaras. I don't think I opened a mascara that didn't have fibers in it (which I typically don't like), but I loved the look of this Lovetulle Pure Rush Volumizing Mascara! The curved, teddy bear wand is great for separating lashes while providing some serious length! I can get all day wear out of this mascara without it flaking or leaving little black dots on my eyelids towards the end of the day. For the price point, I definitely see myself ordering more Korean mascaras in the future!

The few links in this post will direct you to YesStyle, which is an awesome website to get your Korean beauty fix. Added bonus, they ship worldwide with any $35 purchase! Have you ever tried any of these products or have you heard better reviews about the liners? Would you try any of these products out?!
We hit just about all of the main landmarks, walked 10+ miles a day, and took in so many sights and sounds it was hard to recollect everything at the end of each day. There are about 5 minutes from the trip that stand out more than anything else. The moment when Ryan got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife, everything around us in Central Park became a blur and I relished in that incredible moment with my bestfriend.

The whole day we had planned to go walk around Central Park and I was under the impression that Ryan's friend, Karl, would be taking some much needed new coupley photos of us! Two photos in, Ryan started out with, "I know this is something we've talked about....." leading into his proposal and I was completely shocked! He staged it out perfectly and I couldn't believe how much time and effort he put into making this moment perfect. It was a moment from the movies to last a lifetime.
Hey guys! I just got back from spending a few days in the Big Apple! In New York there's always something to see and a place to be. I was so happy I got to spend my Saturday there at the International Makeup Artist Trade Show, commonly referred to as IMATS.

IMATS is known for having great vendors serving up some incredible deals as well as a range of makeup artistry demo's and displays on stage or at certain booths. I picked up makeup I had anticipated for the weeks leading up the show, enjoyed looking at all of the dramatic and FX makeup, and listening to Lisa Eldridge speak was the highlight of my day.

My first stop was the Sugarpill table. The pressed and loose eyeshadows were top on my list as I’ve never owned any and have only heard great things! I can already tell you I’m in love with the products I picked up and reviews on the new lipsticks, launched at IMATS, will be coming soon! Amy Doan, the creator of Sugarpill, was there and is just as sweet and genuine in person!

Lisa Eldridge, a global makeup artist and Lancome’s Creative Director, did an interview on the main stage, and listening to her speak was completely inspiring. I loved listening to her talk about how she budded into the industry and on her different experiences. She did a book signing after her interview and of course I kicked myself after the fact for not grabbing one then! I know I’ll still pick up her book, Face Paint, I’ll just have to get over not having her signature in the front.

Although I only purchased specific things from a few brands that have been on my list for a while, I made a point to stop by all of the booths! It was amazing seeing all of the pastels Lime Crime has to offer and the new Violet Voss eyeshadow palette in person (yeah, it was pretty dreamy). The Morphe and Anastasia Beverly Hills lines stayed wrapped around the building the majority of the day. And different schools were showcasing their talent by having live makeup applications at their booths.

IMATS had so much going on throughout the whole day that I’d really love to dedicate the weekend next time I decide to go. I’ll definitely have reviews on the products I purchased coming up, but that would have made for an overwhelmingly long post! If cosmetics and this industry is something you’re passionate about, I would say to make the splurge into attending IMATS eventually! You’ll see so many great artists on display, learn more about makeup and the industry, and connect with like-minded people!
Benefit has done it AGAIN. If you've been living under a rock, maybe you haven't seen that Benefit Cosmetics is adding onto the much loved Hoola bronzer line! A demi-matte liquid bronzer (I'll explain later in the post), all over body tanner, and a mini Hoola 'to go' are going to be a definite must this spring and summer. The new products are dew to be out on shelves and online April 26th.
As with most Benefit products, this looks very natural and smooth on the skin and blends in with the touch of your fingers, brush, or sponge! It doesn't set matte, and I wouldn't say it's dewy because it doesn't feel oily on the skin (which is great for us combo girls) resulting in a sun kissed glow that will look like you went to the beach on your lunch break!

This is from one pump. As you can see, a little definitely does go a long way! That being said, I am pretty fair. I like to take a pump on the back of my hand and with my finger tap the bronzer on the areas where I want it (forehead, temples, under the cheek bone and jaw) and then go back with a small stippling brush and stipple it in. For an extra boost, I'll set it with the original powder Hoola!

I mentioned the Hoola Zero Tan Lines ($30) earlier as the all over body bronzer! Hoola is also getting it's own bronzing and contouring brush ($24) and a mini size for $15! I can't wait to get my hands on the body bronzer and brush to give you a proper review, until then you should just drool over the packaging online!

Eating healthy meals and having a lunch and dinner pre-prepped is a large part of my daily life, so when my boyfriend and I cook, best believe we're making a lot of food at once! We have Sam's memberships which makes buying in bulk a lot easier! We aren't fancy, trust me. We actually save more money this way and in this post I'll tell you how!

Shopping List:

10 pound bag of boneless skinless chicken breast

Quinoa

Veggies of choice (we buy the large frozen bags)

Prepping the Chicken:

Set oven to 420 degrees

Grab your large baking pan, lay down aluminum foil (makes the clean up easier!)
Sprinkle the sheet with seasonings of choice

Run the chicken under room temp water, rinsing all of the breasts and cutting off any fat left on chicken

Cut the chicken into smaller, 4-6oz. servings

Pat the chicken breasts with paper towels, removing any excess water

Place on baking sheet

Sprinkle more seasonings and additional things, like lemon juice or BBQ sauce to add more flavor (if you aren't cutting!), over top.

Chicken goes in the oven for 35-40 minutes. Less, if you aren't cooking the whole 10 pound bag.

While the chicken is in the oven we normally have the quinoa cooking in a corning ware dish in the microwave, and I also have a pan of brussel sprouts cooking below the chicken. You can check out my roasted brussels sprouts recipe here.

It takes getting into the kitchen for 35-40 minutes and getting everything prepared and then you're set on food for the next week. Meal prep should never seem daunting or tedious! It ultimately saves you time and money. There are also a ton of ways to keep from exhausting your meal prep. You can easily mix up the veggies, or make potatoes instead of rice. And there ya' have it! How do you typically get your meals ready for the week?

I stumbled upon these "MeNow Long Lasting" liquid lipsticks on eBay, and for the price of $1 you can't really beat these! You can search these on eBay and a slew of results will come up, with a range of prices. Of course you can order these from a U.S seller and have them on your doorstep within the week for $3-$5, but I went the even more frugal route and waited patiently.. eh hem, 6 weeks.... for these to come in for only $0.99 a piece with free shipping!

Pro's : The packaging doesn't suck for how inexpensive these lipsticks are! They come in long, sleek packaging with a small, black cap (well, you can't have it all). What I really like is the small, doe foot applicator! It's just as good as any high end liquid lipstick and makes swiping the colors on hassle-free!

Also, these all have some SERIOUS pigment! One swipe and holy cow, COLOR POWER.The color range is impressive, from nudes to dark shades, they've got 'em. Most of the colors wear pretty well and don't streak during application.

(19, 25, 32, 33)

Swatches were taken in natural light, standing infront of a mirror. Still slightly glossy in both pictures, you can see how the nudes dry fairly faster than their brighter counterparts.

Con's : If you order steals this good from eBay regularly, you know you're taking the gamble of it not being that great of quality in person. Of course a problem when ordering these is gauging what the color may actually be, because none of the swatches for these on eBay are accurate! I ordered things mostly in my safety zones (nudes, pinks, a few reds) so there wasn't much disappointment when they came in!

Oh yeah, part of that serious staying power I mentioned in the pro's also means, these feel like glue on your lips. Considering they are only $1, I guess there isn't much room for any fancy nourishing ingredients. Sorry, y'all! But lets be honest, most liquid lipsticks are typically pretty drying so I prep my lips before hand and haven't had many of them let me down!

Honestly, other than a few of the brighter colors I've been pretty impressed with these as a whole and am definitely keeping them in my makeup kit. So did I persuade you?! Would you try out any of these? Let me know!

Who says donuts can’t be healthy too?! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner and all of the chocolates being pushed on grocery store displays, it’s hard to keep my sweet tooth at bay. I follow enough fitness and healthy eating Instagram’s to get the general idea of what they use to substitute the calories but still get great flavor!

Here is the recipe that I’ve found works for me:

What You’ll Need:
1 Scoop Chocolate Cake Batter Syntha 6
3 tbsp. coconut flour
1 tbsp whole wheat flour
2 tbsp Truvia
2 tbsp 0% Fat Plain Greek yogurt
1 1/2 tpsp
1 large egg
1/2 teasp baking soda
3 tbsp. water (I eyeballed it)
White icing & sprinkles (added mostly for photos & slightly for me)

Set oven to 350 degrees, then mix all of these products together in order. What I mean by eyeballing the water, is that you want to add just enough to make it easier to blend. If you add too much water your donuts won’t turn out as fluffy!

Bake for 15 minutes
Yields 10-12 donuts

So there ya have it! I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day with a little chocolate!

It's Fat Tuesday, y'all! Which translates to "Mardi Gras" in French... and it's honestly just one giant party! I thought it would be fun to show all of you Mardi Gras virgins what a day at the carnival looks like. You can make friends with anyone (they'll probably even offer you a beer!), see all of the beautiful floats and wild costumes, catch a few good throws, and all while trying not to splash your drink anywhere.

After hopping off the street car, my friend, Renee, and I trecked down St. Charles until we found a nice little corner that wasn't overly packed! The day parade we caught was Thoth, themed after an ancient Egyptian god. I've always loved catching this parade because it's family friendly and my mom rode as a maid years ago! I'll always catch her a doubloon they throw with the krewes name stamped on it.

During the two hour lull in the parade route, Renee and I decided to partake in some greasy, delicious, cajun food from Superior Seafood - spinach & artichoke dip, crawfish cornbread (oh yeah, baby), and a shrimp poboy. Down here, we don't play around when it comes to food! Don't let me forget to tell you about the 2 large, frozen pomegranate mojitos we also took part in - yes yes yes! By the time we were finished eating the next parade was on its way! Sunday nights parade is Bacchus, themed after the god of wine, and is known for how spectacular its floats truly are. I don't think anyone was too worried about the Super Bowl, we were all too mesmerized by the Bacchus's lights.
I love all of the culture found in New Orleans, from the historic homes to the thick accents. Mardi Gras is another reminder of what there is to love about this city. I hope everyone reading this has a drink, even if you aren't from 'round here!

Happy Mardi Gras!
Some of you may or may not know that I live in New Orleans, LA. Mardi Gras, or 'Carnival', is kind of a big deal around here. There are huge, extravagant parades, parties, costumes, and makeup - oh, of course, the makeup. This look is easy to achieve and pretty wearable for every day, in my opinion!
Who doesn't love to treat themselves? I pay my own bills and sometimes money can be tight and a very stressful thing. I don't think that if you have $20 extra you should be burning to spend it, but occasionally, with a nice paycheck (in-between when rent is due) I like to splurge on something nice for myself - within reason.

(Steve Madden pumps originally $99, marked down to price shown w/ an additional 35% off making them a steal at $24. Needed a nice pair of black heels for some events coming up!)

Where do I shop? I live for discounted stores! Marshall's and TJMaxx are my jam. They have so many nice things, maybe you'll pick up a brand you've never heard of. but you'll fall in love with those sweatpants and go back every time hoping they got another shipment of $12 workout gear. My boyfriend and I also love to pick around the home department! We've picked up a ton of home decor, organizational items, and quirky pictures for around the house here!

I also love closeout stores. So, where I live we have Dillard's department stores, and there are these magical "Dillard's close out stores." Take every sale item from all of those Dillard's, marked down as low as they get, and put them all in one building. BOOM! Designer, name brand products, marked down to final sales prices. This is where you'll find the best deals, but you have to have time to dig, and unfortunately, not many of them offer returns. If you don't have Dillard's, I'm sure there are other stores similar near to you!
I work in the cosmetics industry and my wardrobe consists of mostly black. I picked this up because it's versatile, and now I'll also have another piece of clothing to mix and match for work (going back to buying within reason)!

$8 Pom Pom beanie found at Forever21, okay, this was too cute to pass up!

$12 Nine West leggings found at Marshall's. This is half the price of what they are usually!

Alright, and the Dolce Floral Drops is a cheat. This was actually a gift from my friend, you guys! So I am not "ballin'" as hard as you may have thought..ha! and I received it on the same day as all of the other goodies. It made sense, in my mind, to take a picture of the products all together, but after the fact I realized "Dolce" perfume isn't exactly budget friendly, but smells so yummy!

Overall, this splurge on myself (not including the gifted perfume) cost me a whopping $71! That's $20 LESS than the Steve Madden heels ALONE. If you scout out some good stores and dedicate the time to digging, you'd be amazed what you might find! Would you consider yourself a bargain shopper as well? Let me know where you like to shop deals!
The original intention was to film 10-12 things but it turned into a matter of quality over content, so I scaled back. However, I do plan on filming 1 or 2 more Holiday looks, so if you have any suggestions or requests, I'd love to hear them!

Color Me Automatic Foundation Application - $54/USD

"Color Me" is an easy and universal way to apply liquid or powder foundation. It can cut application time in half with its technology of "15,000 pulses per minute stimulating gentle finger tapping as foundation glides onto skin." Lightweight and hand held, this is any makeup wearers dream for seamless foundation application.

For $54, plus buying replacement sponges every two weeks, $9 per 2 pack, I'd always been skeptical as to how well this really worked. The local Ulta had the Color Me on sale for 50% off!! For such a steal, making it only $27, I decided to give it a try. Note: You will still pay full price for this online. It was only marked down at this location because it was in the test market and will no longer be sold at that store. So, if I decide to continue buying replacement sponges I'll need to rack up before they pull this product for good, or order more online.

after using Color Me Foundation Applicator

First Impressions: The instructions say to turn the device on and apply 1 pump of your foundation onto the sponge, allowing it to soak in. - WRONG - I definitely had to apply 2 -3 pumps before I felt like it really started applying the foundation the way it's intended to. At first I felt like it was applying unevenly and streaky, but after I had enough product applied I was much happier with the application.

The directions instruct you to tap a little foundation from the sponge onto the nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin, then to go back and glide over the skin in circular motions until completely blended. I chose to use my Make Up For Ever HD liquid foundation because I really like the finish of it on my skin. Honestly, I didn't feel like it cut my application time in half. Yes, this was my first time using the device, but I had to keep putting little quarter pumps of my foundation onto the sponge to give me the full coverage I like.

I also spend way too long buffing foundation out on my nose. The tip of my nose always turns pink (at some point in the day or another) so I focus on blending a lot of product right there. On the nose, the application was especially streaky because the hard, dense sponge gave no wiggle room for crevasses. I kept working with it, though, and was ultimately happy with the way my foundation set on my skin.

my basic, 10 minute face, showing off how my foundation set using applicator

I did like the Color Me Automatic Foundation Applicator! Looking at my skin hours after the application, and having not set it with any powder, I'm very happy with the way it set and held up. Little lines on my forehead and pores in my T-Zone aren't as noticeable as I feel they normally would be by now - definitely an airbrush finish.

I don't see myself using this every day, because I feel like it took too much foundation than was actually needed (it's a sponge, what can ya' expect?) and I still had to go over blemishes with concealer - even after adding more foundation. I will definitely pick up more sponges to have as back up. I see myself whipping this out when I know I'll be working a long shift or going out to an event where I would want a seamless application that lasts. What do you think about this applicator? Would you dish out the $54 on it?! Let me know!

I love everything about the holidays from the sights, sounds, smells, and even the hustle & bustle. My parents have always decorated for Christmas and I definitely took that with me everywhere I've gone. When I dormed in art school my junior and senior years of high school, my roommate and I even had a white tree decorated with pink feather boa's and we hung bulbs from the ceiling....I mean, it gets you in the spirit!

My mom has taught me mostly everything I know about decorating. Our main priority - what's cost effective but going to look good! So I've made a list of a few pointers my mom always gave me that anyone could benefit from no matter what holiday or season you're decorating for!

Decorating Top Tips:

Find staple pieces like a vase, or jars and bowls, ect., that are easy to change floral or decorative pieces from season to season

Be wise! Pick up most of your items from Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowes where they'll have lower prices on things like the tree (if you go fake), lights, and small filler bulbs.

Don't underestimate dollar stores! We've found a lot of cute filler bulbs there as well.

Splurge on your larger bulbs that will be the center of attention

Put your larger oraments on first. Using 2-4 of the same on each side, then go in with your smaller, filler ornaments

Use filler such as floral, ribbon, decorative wiring to spruce up a tree

Reflective things open a room up and add more light to a room

This palette is packed with 15 handpicked, limited edition shades, by Gwen Stefani. I know this palette looks like more mattes, but 10 of the shadows are still shimmery finishes. The 5 matte shadows (Punk, Anaheim, Stark, Zone, and Blackout), are just as buttery and smooth as you could expect from Urban Decay.

At first glance you may assume this palette "looks just like any other Naked palette with some color" - because that's what I thought at first too. It really takes starting to play around with this palette that you realize how amazing and versatile all the colors truly are. Check out a closer view of the eye shadows, but no pictures really do them justice!
The packaging is sturdy and very sleek, but light to hold. Urban Decay's Pigment Infusion System is pretty impressive, giving the very shimmery shades all day staying power; and the mattes have the blend-ability of butter! I'd recommend this to newbies or makeup hoarders! It has all of your basic, and not so typical, essentials as well as your fun shades.

What are your thoughts?! Is this on your Christmas list or a skip?

I love this look because it's very wearable for the daytime and through to the evening, just darken up your wing or add some false lashes!
I know most people run away from brussels sprouts but I happen to quite like them! You know what else I like? Good food that doesn't take long to make! I work a full time job and love anything that you can throw together quickly and pop in the oven - this is just that!

I found this brussels sprouts recipe online and changed the seasonings and thought throwing in some nuts would add something sweet into the mix. Okay, I can't take credit for that...it was my boyfriends idea.

You'll Need:

1 LB brussels sprouts

1 1/2 tblspn olive oil (used extra virgin)

2 tblspns Garlic & Herb seasonings

1 tblspn granulated garlic (try this instead of using so much salt!)

1/2 cup honey roasted nuts (or nuts of choice)

Directions:

Have oven preheating at 425 F.

Cut any brown ends off of brussels sprouts, combine all ingredients, excluding the nuts, into a large bowl, and mix together. Make sure all of the sprouts are coated!

Spread the brussels sprouts onto a baking pan and cook for 30 minutes.

Toss pan every 10 minutes for even roasting, adding nuts in for the last 10 minutes.

You'll know your sprouts are ready to serve if they're soft and juicy all the way through! This is a filling dish as is, but makes a great side to any larger course. I'll definitely be adding this into meals every so often and will keep you posted on any alterations I try!
