I've had my eye on
Lime Crime's My Beautiful Rocket lipstick for a while! It's a gorgeous, super opaque orange but is $15 with $5 for shipping! BLEH.
When I was swatching the Maybelline Vivid's collection I came across this gem and thanked my lucky stars! I've been wanting an orange lipstick for so long!
Maybelline Electric Orange Lipstick - Retails for about $5-6 at drugstores. These are from the "Color Vivid" line which offer more pigmentation, long lasting power, and a creamier texture.
This lipstick is definitely creamy and pigmented, but I almost wish they weren't
so creamy because they look glossy on the lips when a color like this should look more matte. My one last complaint would be that this isn't opaque. I had to put 2 layers on to fully cover my lips - yet again, a problem I feel wouldn't happen if these weren't so creamy.
Either way, for a quarter of the price of Lime Crime's, I can't complain about it too much but I know I'll still, eventually, pick up "My Beautiful Rocket."
What do you think about this color?! Will you be trying out come Spring?

ReplyDeleteI tried this formula in Vibrant Mandarin and I liked it a lot, but a matte version of these colors would be A-mazing!

ReplyDeleteI haven't tried this color, but my favorite lipstick right now is from this collection! Pink Pop! It is the perfect pink for spring and summer!
